BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS COORDINATOR, SOUNDSPORT AND DRUMLINE BATTLE EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR

Drum Corps International
February 2018-November 2019.

Directly reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, I managed all day to day aspects of over $635,000 in value for domestic, international, corporate, strategic, and media partners of Drum Corps International. I played an active role in the negotiation and execution of contracted sponsorship assets, ranging from digital marketing and ticket programs to event-day VIP hospitality and engagement initiatives with DCI's fanbase and consumers. I actively participated in a wide variety of cross-functional projects, including data mining for our CEO's presentation on the marching arts at the Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance. I was also the first female reporter and co-host of the DCI News Network, the company's consumer-facing news source for all things drum corps. In addition, I represented DCI at eight industry trade shows and championships events every year, solidifying our current partnerships and fostering new ones along the way.

As the SoundSport and DrumLine Battle Events and Promotions Coordinator, I fully administered these two developmental branches of the Drum Corps International competitive field. With the aim of creating an affordable, flexible, and ever-entertaining experience for marching musicians of all skill levels and varieties, I lead the consultation and recruitment process for 38 ensembles around the world each competitive season. I directly recruited 15 new ensembles to the program through social media efforts and one-on-one development calls. I also arranged the logistics and scheduling for 22 performances at 5 major events, including our annual SoundSport International Music & Food Festival, which welcomed performers and music ambassadors from the USA, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Ireland during my time in the role.

Campus Events Board
August 2017-May 2018

As the Partnerships Chair for the University of Tennessee Campus Events Board, I directed all aspects of campus, business, local, and university outreach for UTK music events, and in particular UT's annual end-of-year concert, Volapalooza. Special projects included university and high school brand ambassador programs, university departmental partnership development, and business development with companies across the Knoxville and East Tennessee areas.

SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Drum Corps International
May 2017-August 2017

As the Sales and Business Development intern for Drum Corps International, I managed all aspects of DCI's corporate sponsorships and advertising for the 2017 season, including creating ad copy, writing contracts, and developing and confirming new partnerships. Focus areas include event production and marketing, ticketing, VIP hospitality, and partnership development.
Special Projects: international guest hospitality and business development; video board production and management; awards ceremony production and presentation; U.S. Army Band performance coordination; SoundSport International Music & Food Festival event management; event marketplace planning and setup; promotions distribution and signage setup.

BRAND AMBASSADOR INTERN

Packback Questions
October 2016-January 2017

As a Brand Ambassador intern for Packback Questions, I was promoted to Lead Ambassador after 1 month and wrote a feature column for the Packback blog. I maintained a portfolio of over 80 professors at the University of Tennessee and served as their student resource for all things Packback. Daily responsibilities included scheduling demos with interested professors and conducting cold-calls and office visits with new clients.
